Governor to sign Wisconsin budget on Sunday

June 26, 2013 By Andrew Beckett

Governor Scott Walker has announced plans to sign the state’s 2013-15 state budget this weekend in Pleasant Prairie. The governor’s office says Walker will sign the budget bill in a ceremony Sunday afternoon at Catalyst Exhibits.

Lawmakers gave final approval last week to the nearly $70 billion spending plan, after adding provisions that expanded a statewide private school voucher program and increased the size of an income tax cut.

Several lawmakers and interest groups have been urging the governor to veto various provisions in the budget, but Walker has so far remained quiet about what action he might take using his veto pen.
