Lohse finally gets long awaited 2nd win

June 10, 2013 By Bill Scott

Kyle Lohse picked up his first victory with the Brewers early on, beating the SanMilwaukee Brewers vs St. Louis Cardinals Diego Padres.  Since that time, Lohse has made 8-starts without a victory.

Lohse made up for lost time on Sunday, working 8-strong innings, helping the Brewers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 9-1.

Lohse was 1-6 until he earned a win on Sunday, but things didn’t start off perfectly.  The first two Phillies reached base on singles.  But then, Nori Aoki threw out Michael Young at the plate and Lohse cruised from that point forward.

Lohse didn’t allow a run until the 8th when Phillies catcher Humberto Quintero homered in the 8th.  He started the day with the second worst run support in the National League.

The Brewers wound up taking 3 of 4 in the series.  They’ll open a 3-game series in Miami against the Marlins tonight.
