Play suspended at the US Open this morning

June 13, 2013 By Bill Scott

The first round of golf’s second major, the U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.  But as expected, thunderstorms came rolling through the area early on and play was suspended at 7:36am (CT).

Ian Poulter is the early leader on the course at -3 through the first 3 holes.  Madison’s Steve Stricker is at 1-under par through 6.

The weather forecast in the area calls for the showers to pass and there should be more golf later this morning.
