A maintenance employee for a Racine County-owned golf course was killed Thursday when a large tree branch fell on him.
The 83-year old victim was on a riding mower at the Ives Grove Golf Course, when sheriff’s investigators believe the machine’s roll bar contacted a large tree branch. The impact caused the branch to break and fall on the man.
Deputies found him pinned between the branch and the steering wheel.
The victim worked for a private company that Racine County has used for years to maintain and operate the golf course. The accident remains under investigation.
