Weeks, Lohse lead the Brewers past the Cubs

June 26, 2013 By Bill Scott

Rickie Weeks June onslaught continued Tuesday.  The Brewers opened their three-game series with the Chicago Cubs with a 9-3 victory at Miller Park.

Weeks paced the offense with a pair of home runs, a double, and 4-RBI.  For the moth of June, Weeks is now batting .429.  On the season, he has 8-homers and 19-RBI with 5-homers and 9-RBI coming this month.  Weeks claims he isn’t doing anything different…

The Brewers and Cubs entered the series tied for last in the National League Central.  The win puts Milwaukee (32-43) a game ahead of Chicago (31-44) in the standings.  Game 2 of the 3 game series is tonight at Miller Park.  Yovani Gallardo (6-6, 4.09 ERA) goes for Milwaukee against Chicago’s Scott Feldman (6-6, 3.39 ERA) for a 7:10 first pitch.
