Segura & Gomez go hitless in all-star game (Video Highlights)

July 17, 2013 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Brewers‘ all-stars Jean Segura and Carlos Gomez each played in last night’s all-star game, both grounding out in their only plate appearance.  The American League ended a 3-year losing streak to the Nationals with a 3-0 shutout victory last night.

Segura entered the game for Troy Tulowitzki in the top of the 6th inning at shortstop, while Carloz Gomez entered the game in right field.

Gomez grounded out in the 8th in what turned out to be the final out recorded by Yankees closer and game MVP Mariano Rivera.

Both players will rejoin the Brewers and open a home series against the Miami Marlins on Friday night.
