Tornado touchdowns reported

July 10, 2013 By Bob Hague

Tornado touchdowns were reported Tuesday in central Wisconsin. Lincoln County Emergency Management said a weather watcher confirmed rotation of a tornado 3:36 Tuesday afternoon, moving east into Langlade County near County Road C. Tree and power line damage was reported but no damage to structures and no injuries. The storm entered Langlade County around 4:00 p.m. and dipped down to the ground then back to the clouds a couple of times. There were also no reports of damage or injuries in Langlade County.

Wisconsin Emergency Managament is still looking into reports of a tornado west of Bancroft, in Portage and Waushara Counties. Emergency Management’s Tod Pritchard said they’ve heard of some trees down but are double checking for any other damage.

In addition, Pritchard said a potential tornado touchdown in Oconto County town of Little River, just north of Oconto, resulted in minor damage to at least six homes.  The National Weather Service could still not provide a good answer if the damage was due to a tornado, but is investigating.
