Walker wants voucher school accountability

July 2, 2013 By WRN Contributor

All schools that receive any public funding should follow the same accountability rules.

That’s according to Governor Walker, in the wake of the statewide expansion of the private school voucher program. He says he wants lawmakers to pass a bill this fall to require private and virtual schools to participate in the school report card system.Republican Senator Luther Olsen is working on the legislation.

The voucher expansion is included in the new state budget, and it includes an enrollment cap.

The governor was in Green Bay Monday to talk about the budget.
