Bicyclist killed in crash identified

August 27, 2013 By Bob Hague

A bicyclist killed Saturday in a Town of Seymour crash has been identified as a 48-year-old Hobart man. The Appleton Post Crescent reports that Kevin Payette died after a car driven by a 73-year-old New Jersey man struck him about 5:50 p.m. on Outagamie County VV near County Y, according to Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department Captain Mike Jobe.

The car’s driver was traveling eastbound on County VV and pulled into the westbound lane to pass a truck pulling a horse trailer. The car collided with the westbound cyclist while trying to pass the horse trailer. Jobe said all fatalities are reviewed by the Outagamie County District Attorney and any applicable citations would be issued after the review.
