Brewers looking to play spoilers in Pittsburgh

August 27, 2013 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers open a 3-game series at P-N-C Park in Pittsburgh against the Pirates tonight.

It’s a big series for the Pirates, who trail first place St. Louis by a half game for the Central Division lead.  The Pirates are six wins away from guaranteeing its first winning season since 1992.

The Pirates offense has been just average this season, but their pitching staff carries a 3.19 team ERA, that is the best in baseball.
