Bradley Young

The manhunt is over according to Barron County officials. Officer Bradley Young is in custody. Young called officers to turn himself in when he noticed officers doing a search close to him and he realized he could not move without getting caught. He was located inside a cabin near McKenzie Lake about ten miles northwest of Spooner in Burnett County.

The 43-year-old police officer from Waupun was wanted in connection with several burglaries in Green Lake County followed by a high speed chase and a stolen vehicle in Barron County.

Young was taken into custody in Burnett County without incident with the help of swat teams from the counties of Washburn, Barron, Burnett and Douglas, along with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol, Division of Criminal Investigation and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The located the stolen car about a mile away, and conducted systematic searches of every building until Young dialed 911 to surrender.

Young is currently being held in Burnett County jail on local charges of Burglary. He will likely be charged with eluding an officer and auto theft in Barron County. The 22-year veteran police officer also faces burglary and auto theft charges back in Green Lake County near his Waupun home.
