Person killed on Indian reservation

An individual was shot to death last night in northern Wisconsin, according to the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials got a 911 call about 11:30 Wednesday night indicating someone had been shot at an apartment on the Lac Courte Oreilles reservation.

Sawyer County Sheriff’s Deputies, Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) Police Officers, and emergency medical services responded to the call.

A deceased individual with a gunshot wound was confirmed by authorities.  The case is being investigated by the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the LCO Police Department, Division of Criminal Investigations, and Wisconsin State Patrol.

No names or any other information is being released at this time but will be available in the near future.
