Report: Rams called Brett Favre

quarterback.  They ended up signing veteran Brady Quinn, who had been released by the New York Jets earlier this week.

The Rams did have their sites set higher though.  According to an Adam Schefter report at ESPN.com, the Rams called former Green Bay Packers 44-year-old retired quarterback Bret Favre to see if he was willing to put retirement on hold to quarterback the Rams in the second half of the season.

Favre told the Rams he was retired and had no interest.
