Superior man charged with stalking

October 29, 2013 By WRN Contributor

A 28-year-old Superior man stands accused of felony stalking. According to the Superior Police Department, John Frank Young was taken into custody Monday. His arrest stems from multiple complaints of a man following, and in some cases, grabbing the buttocks of women pedestrians on or near the UW-Superior campus. Young was convicted of 4th Degree Sexual Assault for incidents in early 2012 where women had been assaulted in a similar manner on the Osaugie Trail.

An officer spotted Young riding a bike Sunday, wearing clothing that matched the description given in the latest incidents. His red bike was also a match. They tried to make contact with him, but he allegedly eluded them. At the time of his arrest, Young was still wearing the same clothing. He’s charged with two counts of 4th Degree Sexual Assault and felony stalking. At last check Young was in custody at the Douglas County Jail. Anyone who may have been subject to a similar assault is asked to contact Superior Police.
