Bucks’ Sanders to miss six weeks

November 12, 2013 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Bucks won’t have big man Larry Sanders for tonight’s game against the Miami Heat in Miami.  Sanders will miss the next six weeks after undergoing surgery Monday to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb.

Sanders sustained the injury in an altercation at a downtown Milwaukee nightclub in the early morning hours of Nov. 3.  No criminal charges resulted in the incident.

Sanders signed a 4-year, $44 million contract extension in the offseason.  He finished third in the NBA’s most improved player voting last season.

Larry Drew continues to play with a short bench.  The Bucks will be without forward Ersan Ilyasova (sore right ankle) and guard Luke Ridnour (sore back).
