A “person of interest” in a Rock County homicide investigation has been arrested on charges stemming from the investigation into the disappearance of 18-year-old Aprina Paul of Fitchburg. Nathan Middleton faces several charges including hiding a corpse, mutilating a corpse and failure to notify the coroner of a death. The charges come after a review of findings in the ongoing investigation by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office by Rock County District Attorney David O’Leary.

Paul was last seen October 27th and her remains were found a week later in a burn pit in the yard of a residence Middleton occupied near Evansville. Middleton subsequently admitted that he had sex and did drugs with Paul – and he woke up the next day to find her dead. The two allegedly met when Paul responded to his online ad.
