Narveson signs deal in Tokyo

December 26, 2013 By Bill Scott

Former Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Chris Narveson has signed a one-year deal with the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.

The 32-year-old Narveson went 12-9 with a 4.99 ERA in 2010 and 11-8 with a 4.45 ERA in 2011.  He suffered a torn rotator cuff and required season ending surgery after just two starts in 2012.

Narveson went 4-7 with a 5.14 ERA in 15 starts at triple-A Nashville last season.

Narveson pitched in the Dominican Winter League this year, going 2-1 with a 1.98 ERA in five starts.
