Back and forth they went, the Wisconsin women’s basketball team and Big Ten rival Indiana. Ten ties and twelve lead changes and the Badgers eventually prevailed, 65-60 over the Hoosiers at the Kohl Center.
Jacki Gulczynski had a season-high 23 points and 13 rebounds, recording her third double-double of the season to lead the way for the Badgers (9-7, 2-2 Big Ten). Indiana (14-2, 1-2) got 14 from Larryn Brooks and 13 from Alexis Gassion in the loss.
The Badgers shot 37.9% from the field and 31.8% from three-point range, but they made the difference at the free throw line. Wisconsin hit 14 of 19 (73%) while the Hoosiers made 11 of 13 (84.6%).
The Badgers return to Big Ten action on Saturday when they travel to Northwestern for a 2pm tip in Evanston, Ill.
