Badger women’s hockey earns split with UND

January 13, 2014 By Bill Scott

The 2nd ranked Wisconsin women’s hockey team knocked off North Dakota 4-1 at sold out LaBahn Arena to earn a split in their 2-game weekend series in Madison.

Freshman goaltender Ann-Renee Desbiens, making just her ninth collegiate start, shut down the high-powers UND offense, making 29 saves to improve to 9-1-0.

Junior Blayre Turnbull scored twice for Wisconsin in the win, giving her 10 goals and 22 points on the season.

The win improves the Badgers record to 17-3-2, 13-3-2-1 in the WCHA, while UND fell to 13-5-2 and 10-4-2-1 in the WCHA.

Next up for the Badgers, a 2-game conference series next weekend at Bemidji State.
