According to reports, former Green Bay Packers safety Darren Sharper has been arrested and released on bail over the weekend on suspicion of sexual assault.
The Los Angeles Police Department arrested and booked Sharper on Friday night. Sharper, who played 14 seasons in the NFL with Green Bay, Minnesota and New Orleans, was released on $200,000 bail just before midnight and faces a Feb. 14 court appearance.
LAPD said it is investigating Sharper in connection with two sexual assaults that occurred in October and earlier this month in the west Los Angeles area.
According to a separate report, the 38-year-old Sharper is also being investigated by New Orleans police for an allegation of sexual assault on Sept. 24 in that city.
Sharper has been working as an analyst for the NFL Network and has been suspended without pay, effective immediately.
