Four charged in overdose death

January 15, 2014 By WRN Contributor

Four people have been arrested after a yearlong investigation into the overdose death of an 18-year-old Boscobel man. Facing federal indictments in the January 13, 2013 death of Jordan Faulkner are 33-year-old Craig D. Bellis, 63-year-old Mary E. Grant, 46-year-old Brent “Tony” Venglish and 24-year-old Thomas Kussmaul, all of Boscobel. The four are charged with distribution of a controlled substance, morphine.

An autopsy revealed that Faulkner died of a morphine overdose. Grant, Venglish, and Kussmaul were arrested on January 9th and transported to the US Marshall’s office in Madison to await their initial appearance. Bellis is currently in the Grant County Jail on unrelated charges. The investigation into Faulkner’s death was conducted by the Boscobel Police Department, Richland Iowa Grant Drug Task Force, and the Wisconsin Department of Justice. The Grant County Sheriff’s Department said the investigation is ongoing with more charges expected.
