Marquette gets by Seton Hall

January 12, 2014 By Bill Scott

The Marquette Golden Eagles picked up a much-needed home court victory Saturday, pulling out a 67-66 win over Seton Hall at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Todd Mayo scored 19 points off the bench Saturday to lead the way for the Golden Eagles (10-7, 2-2 Big East).

Seton Hall didn’t go easy though.  The Pirates (10-7, 1-3) trailed by 14 at halftime and 9 with less than 3 minutes to play.  They forced a couple of Marquette turnovers and then started hitting three’s (4 in the closing minutes) to make things interesting.  But the Golden Eagles hit their free throws down the stretch to pull out the win.
