A Kenosha newspaper delivery driver came across an elderly woman in the newly fallen snow New Year’s morning and may have helped save her life.
Ralph Sustaita told his employer, the Kenosha News, about hearing a voice say “help me,” and finding the woman in need of protection from the cold and snow. He put his Packers jacket on her and used his knit hat to warm her hands.
Sustaita called 911 and stayed with the woman until paramedics arrived. She was treated at Kenosha Medical Center for both hypothermia and frostbite.
The woman’s family tells the paper their driver saved her life, and they are forever grateful.
