NFC North teams set their head coaches

January 15, 2014 By Bill Scott

The Minnesota Vikings completed the head coaching circle in the NFC North with the hiring of Cincinnati’s defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer today.

Zimmer spent the last six seasons as the Bengals defensive coordinator.

Just a day earlier, the Detroit Lions made former Colts head coach Jim Caldwell their next head coach and were expected to introduce him at a news conference in Detroit today.

The two hires over the last 24-hours, means the NFC North no longer has any head coaching vacancies.

The Bears made Mark Trestman their head coach prior to last season and the Packers have had Mike McCarthy locked in place for nearly a decade.
