An anonymous call regarding a woman being held against her will led to the arrest of two people and the siezure of 27 pounds of marijuana in western Wisconsin. Thirty-one-year-old Vincent Benshoof of White Bear Lake, Minnesota and 21-year-old Noelle Hansen have been charged in St. Croix County Circuit Court with possession with intent to sell more than 10,000 grams of marijuana and possession with intent to sell methamphetamine.
The Pioneer Press newspaper reports that deputies responding early Saturday morning to the Regency Inn in the Town of Hudson eventually led to a search of Benshoof’s car, where the marijuana with an estimated street value of between $60,000 and $80,000, was found in two duffel bags and a backpack. Deputies also found a substance in the car that tested positive for methamphetamine, while items in the motel room included a copy machine what appeared to be counterfeit U.S. bills.
Benshoof’s arrest came two weeks after an arrest in which he allegedly was found with psilocybin mushrooms and methamphetamine in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Cash bonds in both Benshoof’s and Hansen’s St. Croix County cases have been set at $50,000. Both remained in the St. Croix County Jail Tuesday afternoon.
