Body found on railroad tracks in Chippewa Falls

February 24, 2014 By WRN Contributor

Roads on the south side of Chippewa Falls were closed Sunday morning, as police investigated the area where a body was found on the railroad tracks.

Police say a passerby reported seeing items on the tracks near Main Street and Park Avenue around 7am. Officers responding to the call found body parts and an ID card, though they have not positively identified the victim.

Police say a Union Pacific train was stopped on the tracks and it appeared the train had hit the person. An investigation is ongoing.
