The search continues for a baby reported missing in the Town of Beloit, while authorities are releasing little information about what might have happened to the child.

The less than a week old Kayden Powell was reported missing at around 4:30 on Thursday morning. Town of Beloit Police Chief Steve Kopp says the boy’s 18-year-old mother contacted officials when she found the child missing from his bassinet.

Kopp says his officers, along with the Rock County Sheriff’s Department and FBI, have been working to locate and interview friends and family members. The home is being processed for physical evidence as well.

The boy’s parents were with police most of the day on Thursday and Kopp says they had been cooperating with investigators. Officers did detain a woman in Iowa, on an unrelated warrant, who had been at the home Wednesday night. However, she is not considered a person of interest in the case.

At this time, Kopp says they have no suspects and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the child is being urged to contact police.
