Fox Valley child-sex sting nets 19

March 31, 2014 By WRN Contributor

Authorities from several northeast Wisconsin communities arrested 19 people over the weekend, during an online sting targeting child sex predators.

Brown County Sheriff’s Department Captain Jeff Sanborn says Operation Vanguard had 75 officers from several counties posing online as underage teens. He says it resulted in “numerous hits” from people wanting to make contact with them for sex.

Officers set up meetings with those individuals at locations in Appleton, Oshkosh, Green Bay, Shawano, and Wausau. They then arrested suspects for charges ranging from child enticement to using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime.
