Wausau woman admits to being drunk in court

A Wausau woman faces additional charges, after prosecutors say she showed up to a court appearance this week while intoxicated.

25-year-old Storie Kunz appeared Tuesday to enter into a plea deal on charges of marijuana possession, negligent use of a weapon, battery, and prostitution. Kunz told Judge Jill Falstad during the hearing she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at that time.

However, when she checked in with a probation officer after the hearing, she blew a .113 on a Breathalyzer test. Kunz was then marched back to the judge for a special hearing, where Falstad ordered her held on a $1,000 bond with the first $250 in cash for bail jumping.

Kunz admitted to having two beers and two shots, and that she started drinking the night before the hearing.

Lying to the judge can be costly. The original plea agreement called for a review of her charges after probation so she could have her record expunged. Once it was discovered she was drunk, that deal was dropped.
