Fatal fire in Tomahawk

April 18, 2014 By WRN Contributor

A house fire in rural Lincoln County has claimed the life of an elderly man.

Fire fighters were called to the home in rural Tomahawk early Thursday afternoon by a man who had arrived to plow snow. The plow driver saw flames coming out of blown out windows. The home suffered extensive damage to the structure.

Investigators believe the victim who died in the fire was a 70-year-old man who lived there. The victim’s wife was away from the home in Wausau at the time of the fire.

The Lincoln County Coroner and the State Fire Marshall are investigating. The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
