Fire hits Monroe ethanol plant

April 1, 2014 By WRN Contributor

No injuries have been reported from a 2-Alarm fire in Monroe this morning.

Police Chief Fred Kelly says the blaze was reported at the Badger State Ethanol Plant just before 3 a.m. The plant was on routine shut down for clean up, so just a few employees were on the scene.

Kelly says it is a tedious battle as it involves dust particles that are on fire in the building’s duct work. A number of departments, including some from Illinois, are assisting.
