Stricker tied for 7th after two rounds at Shell Houston Open

April 4, 2014 By Bill Scott

It looks like Madison’s Steve Stricker will be making the trip from Houston to Dallas after Saturday’s 3rd round of the Shell Houston Open.  Stricker said he plans to head to AT&T Stadium in Arlington to watch the Badgers play Kentucky in Saturday’s Final Four semifinals.

Stricker fired a 3-under par 69 in Friday’s second round to improve to 7-under par after two rounds.  He’s 5-shots behind front-runner Sergio Garcia.

Garcia fired a 7-under par 65 on Friday to move to 12-under par at the midway point of the tournament.  He has a 1-shot lead over Matt Kuchar, who shot a 5-under 67 today to climb to 11-under.
