Green Bay advances to Horizon League softball championship

The Green Bay Phoenix women’s softball team is headed for the Horizon League Tournament championship game after a 9-1, 5-inning win over Valparaiso this afternoon (Friday).

Green Bay improved to 26-12 on the season and will face the winner of the Valparaiso/Illinois-Chicago elimination game later this afternoon.  The championship game will take place Saturday at noon central time.

Senior Ashley Nannemann (Burlington, Wis.) got the start on the mound and improved to 10-7, scattering three hits with two strikeouts and allowing one unearned run.
