Marquette adds another assistant coach

May 1, 2014 By Bill Scott

New Marquette men’s basketball coach Steve Wojciechowski has hired former Florida star Brett Nelson as an assistant coach with the Golden Eagles.

Nelson has spent the last seven years as an assistant at Ball State, Drake, Arkansas and Marshall.  He started his post-playing career as director of basketball operations at Colorado State and Virginia Commonwealth.

Nelson worked for Mark Phelps at Drake.  Phelps has also be hired as an assistant on the Marquette staff.

Nelson was a McDonald’s All-American in high school and an honorable mention All-American at Florida.
