A week after she was taken to a hospital with a head injury, a three-year-old Town of Menasha girl has died.

Officer Jason Weber says they continue to investigate claims that the child had a seizure and fell down some stairs. A 26-year-old man remains in custody on a probation hold, where he has been since the incident last Wednesday.

The man lived in the same home as the girl, but Weber says he was not related to her. Police have not released the name of the girl or the man in custody.

Weber says they have been working with Winnebago County prosecutors and could make a recommendation on any charges by early next week.
