Report details use of hospitals

May 12, 2014 By WRN Contributor

A new report shows state hospitals served more than 50,000 people a day in 2012, and delivered more than 60,000 babies. Wisconsin Hospital Association executive vice president Eric Borgerding says the study also shows that those patients are getting high-quality care. He says that leads to lower costs, in the long run, because there aren’t as many readmissions.

Borgerding says in addition to serving the medical needs of their communities, hospitals are also major employers. He says more than 100,000 people work in Wisconsin medical centers.
