More Badgers go in NHL Draft

The University of Wisconsin men’s hockey team had two incoming players selected in the recent NHL draft, for a 17th straight season.

Two newcomers, defenseman Jack Dougherty of Cottage Grove, Minnesota was selected in the second round of the NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators.

Dougherty will arrive in Madison after skating with the U.S. Under-18 team last season.  He won gold with the under-18 team at the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation World Under-18 Championship.

Forward Matt Ustaski (Glenview, Illinois) was picked in the 7th round by the Winnipeg Jets.  The 6’6, 225 pound Ustaski, skated for the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL last season, posting 29 goals and 49 points in 54 games.
