Police in Madison say a pedestrian was attacked over the weekend, after he took a swing at an SUV that refused to stop for him in an intersection.

The incident happened early Saturday morning near the UW-Madison campus. Police say a 29-year-old man was crossing at an intersection when a white SUV cut him off. The victim then slapped the door or hood of the vehicle. It stopped and three men climbed out, who then beat the pedestrian before driving away.

The man suffered a broken nose. The attackers were quickly located by police and were arrested without incident. They now face charges of substantial battery.
