Drowning deaths mar holiday weekend

July 7, 2014 By Andrew Beckett

At least three people are dead across Wisconsin as a result of apparent drownings over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

In Waukesha County, the body of 31-year-old Brett Wiesner was found in Oconomowoc Lake Saturday, after he reportedly went into the water and failed to surface. The former Milwaukee Wave soccer player was a graduate of Brookfield East.

The body of a missing Beloit teenager was found in a lake at a campground near Portage on Sunday. Rescue divers found 17-year-old Thomas Biggs in water close to the trailer where his family had been celebrating the holiday in Columbia County. Biggs was reported missing on Friday.

Dive teams also pulled the body of 24-year-old Deangelo Williams of Hopkins Minnesota from Balsam Lake in Polk County on Sunday. Williams reportedly went under while swimming out to a floating platform with another person.
