Stricker in the hunt after day 1 of the Greenbrier Classic

July 3, 2014 By Bill Scott

Madison’s Steve Stricker shot an opening round 4-under par 66 and is in the clubhouse two shots behind leader Jonas Blixt after his opening round of the PGA Tour’s Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia.

Blixt is the clubhouse leader all by himself.  Six golfers are in the clubhouse just a shot off the lead at -5.  Stricker is tied with four others at -4.

Stricker is playing this weekend with his wife Nicki as his caddie.  This is his first tournament since finishing 21st at the U.S. Open.

Stricker is also scheduled to play next week at the John Deere Classic.

Another Wisconsin golfer, Mark Wilson shot an opening round 2-under par 68.
