Stricker tied for 5th after two rounds at Greenbrier Classic

July 5, 2014 By Bill Scott

Madison’s Steve Stricker shot a 2-under par 68 and is tied for fifth with Brice Garnett and Chris Kirk at the midway point of the PGA‘s Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia.

Billy Hurley III fired a season-best 7-under 63 to take the second-round lead.  His bogey free round included a chip-in from 29 feet on No. 4 in cool conditions before the wind picked up considerably late in his morning round.

First-round leader and defending champion Jonas Blixt had three early bogeys and shot 73 to drop into a tie for 25th at 3-under par.

Fed Ex Cup points leader Jimmy Walker (75) was among those who missed the cut.  He finished five over.
