Lightning kills Oconto County man, injures other

August 5, 2014 By WRN Contributor

A 27-year-old man was killed and another man critically injured when a lightning bolt struck a tree house they were working in Sunday evening in Morgan in Oconto County.

Mike Rusnak lives down the street from the incident. He says it could have easily had been him. “It was definitely in the area.”

A woman heard the lightning strike, looked outside and saw her 31-year old boyfriend lying on the ground. He’s being treated at a Green Bay hospital. Rescue crews found the 2nd man, Brad Cox from the Twon of Abrams, who had been electrocuted inside a child’s tree house the two men were working on.

No further information is available for the second man.
