Investigation into an illegal campsite led to much more illegal activity.

Lincoln County deputies were told last week about a possible illegal campsite on county property in the Town of Wilson near Highway CC. Deputies not only found the campsite, they found a marijuana growing operation on the county land.

Investigators kept an eye on the site, and arrested a 45-year-old Tomahawk man Sunday morning. He was charged with possession of marijuana, manufacturing the drug, and possession of paraphernalia. The man’s name hasn’t been released, but he is in the Lincoln County Jail awaiting an initial court appearance. That could happen later today.
