September 11, 2014 By Bill Scott

Wily Peralta ended a personal three-game losing streak, pitching the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-1 win over the Miami Marlins at Miller Park.

Peralta allowed a single run, scattering five hits with three walks and five strikeouts in improving to 16-10 for the season.

Rookie Matt Clark, a September call-up, received his second start at first base.  He drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, then clubbed his first major league home run in the seventh.

Carlos Gomez stole his 30th base of the season and the 200th of his career.  He’s the second player in Brewers history to steal 30-plus bases three times, joining Paul Molitor.

Francisco Rodriguez worked the 9th inning and earned his 40th save of the season.  He needs four more to move into 10th place on the all-time list.

Mike Fiers (5-2, 2.03) pitches the series finale for the Brewers tonight.  He’ll face Miami’s Nathan Eovaldi (6-10, 4.19).
