Books, marijuana, and jail do not mix in Racine County.

Two Racine men in their 20s, already behind bars, are now facing pot possession charges reference cigarettes that showed up in a book during a lockdown search — the smell of marijuana in the cell area was kind of a dead giveaway.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old Racine woman gets 16 months in prison after the book she’d bought, then returned loaded with marijuana cigarettes and matches, was sent by a store worker to a friend in jail. That was confiscated by jail staff because it smelled and looked funny.
