Verona & Edgewood crowned girls golf champs

October 15, 2014 By Bill Scott

Verona captured the WIAA Division 1 girls state golf championship at University Ridge golf course, earning a 8-shot win over Arrowhead on Tuesday.  Middleton finished third, 12-shots back.

Middleton’s Loren Skibba was the top individual finisher with a two-day total of 147.  That’s four-shots better than Homestead’s Anika Hitt.

In Division 2, led by Tess Hackworthy (150) and Caroline Lake’s (154) 1-2 finish, Edgewood shot a 659 to finish a whopping 56 strokes in front of second-place Fox Valley Lutheran.    It’s the fourth straight girls title for Edgewood.
