Marquette falls to Michigan State in Orlando semifinals

Michigan State broke open a close game in the second half and knocked off Marquette 79-68.  The 20th-ranked Spartans caught fire in the second half, hitting 11 of their first 13 shots to pull away.

Denzel Valentine hit two quick three-pointers right after the half as the Spartans went on a 17-5 run to push their lead as high as 16 points.  Valentine finished with a career high 24 points.

Redshirt freshman Duane Wilson had 15 points to lead the Golden Eagles.

Marquette will face Tennessee for third place in the Orlando Classic on Sunday (3pm).
