Marquette wins 10th state soccer title

Milwaukee Marquette captured its 10th WIAA State Soccer title, beating Menomonee Falls 4-1 in the division 1 title game at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee on Saturday.  Marquette finishes the season 23-1-2.  Menomonee Falls finished with a 17-4-5 mark.

Division 2

Brookfield East shutout Cedarburg 2-0 to win its 3rd state championship, finishing the season at 20-2-4.  Brookfield East also captured titles in 1995 and 1997.  Cedarburg ended its season at 14-6-4.

Division 3

Delavan-Darien captured the division 3 title on Saturday, 3-1 over Mt. Horeb.  It’s the second title for Delavan-Darien, which also captured a championship in 2000 when they won the division 2 crown.  Delavan-Darien improved to 23-2-2 while Mt. Horeb finishes 14-6-4.

Division 4

Racine Prairie blanked St. Thomas More 2-0 to win their fifth state championship and 3rd in the last five years.  Racine Prairie improved to
20-4-3, while Thomas More ends its season at 15-4-4.
