A shooting involving two hunters in Manitowoc County Saturday is being investigated by the Wisconsin DNR.

A warden supervisor says it happened on private land near the Clarks Mills area. A 16-year-old Reedsville boy was shooting at a deer in the field with a shotgun, but the shot struck a 24-year-old Brillion man who was in a wooded area.

The victim’s injuries are considered serious, but non-life threatening.

The DNR says both hunters were wearing blaze orange. Officials say it appears to be accidental but the incident remains under investigation.
