Packers looking to finish strong

December 4, 2014 By Bill Scott

With four games left in the regular season, the Green Bay Packers (9-3) remain a full game in front of the Detroit Lions atop the NFC North.  After beating New England 26-21 last Sunday, the Packers are also the latest NFL team to become the favorite to win the Super Bowl.

What is even more encouraging for the Packers is their ability to finish in the final month of the season.

Since Mike McCarthy took over as head coach in 2006, the Packers have gone 26-11 in December/January regular season games.  Only New England (34-5) and San Diego (33-6) have better marks down the stretch during that time frame.

At 9-3, the Packers are tied for the best record in the NFC with Philadelphia and Arizona.  They’ve already beaten the Eagles but don’t have Arizona on their regular season schedule.

The Packers return to the practice field today and will host the Atlanta Falcons at Lambeau Field on Monday night.  The Packers are 6-0 at home this season.
